Bear scouts and akelas~
I don't know about you, but didn't the summer go by super fast!  :)  We hope you have had a great summer.

We wanted to let you know that we went to Keokuk to do some looking for good places for geode hunting.  After going there, we decided that if we wanted to do this as a den, we would want to talk to each of you about having a tour guide first.  Therefore, this will be something we will discuss at one of our first meetings.

We will be sending out the schedule soon for our den meeting dates so everyone can get them on your calendar!  If you remember, our meetings have now switched to Monday nights.  Our first meeting will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015.  We will begin at 6:30 at Prairie Ridge.

If you remember, we have been working towards each scout earning their conservation badge.  One requirement that needs to be completed is a Pack/Den conversation project.
Below is information about this project.  We are asking each of you to highly consider joining us in this event so each of our den members can earn this badge.  Wouldn't it be fantastic for our entire den to earn this badge?!
You will be receiving the information below in this email, but also in an email for the entire pack.

The Fairfax community is looking for our help.  They are wanting to clear weeks and trees along the Prairie View Estates Trail on Saturday, Aug. 15th beginning at 9:00 AM.  This would be a great way for each den and our Pack as a whole to give back.  This would be a great community service or conservation project that scouts can work towards earning a badge for.  They would like to know how many of our scouts could attend.  We would ask for everyone that helps out to wear boots/shoes, pants, work gloves.

Also, if the scouts could bring their class A uniform for a picture right away and then they would wear their regular shirts for the actual clean up.

If you are planning to attend, please reply to this email or contact Jeremy Smith at jdsmith040@gmail.com by Thursday, Aug. 13th.

Thank you!
